I often use a “pin vise” which is a tool which holds a drill bit for drilling, you use your fingers to turn the vise which turns the drill which drills the holes… I use this because it is slower and I have more control over the entire process, and because some things tend to break or shatter if you use electrical drills… sometimes the craft shops have bunches of charms for sale too… good luck on your project!

For you can melt hole in the charm you know if your charms are plastic you doesnt hurt to ask.
The needle just heat the metal ones for you will have to ask.
For you doesnt hurt to ask.
