I’ve heard several things before but I can’t seem to remember.
I have a green aventurine necklace that my friend made me.
When she gave it to me it was a dark green and now it is a light, almost smoky green.

No, it’s not a mood ring.
It is a gemstone.
An actual stone that came from the ground called green aventurine.
I’d like to know more about it, honestly.
And I don’t believe it was dyed because of the person that gave it to me.

Most likely it was dyed. It’s pretty common in semi-precious stone jewelry. Some dyes stick better than others.
Edit: Unfortunately, companies do not have to disclose what treatments have been done to stones before selling them. It was most likely dyed.
